Structural Survey

Structural Surveys

Before purchasing a home, particularly an older home, you may want to commission an engineering survey to assess the physical building for signs of structural distress.

Risk Mitigation

A structural survey is all about risk mitigation. It will cost you some money but that investment could save thousands of dollars for major repairs of faults you didn't know about when you bought the property.

Survey Scope

A structural survey, conducted by a Chartered Civil Engineer or Structural Engineer, examines the property for the soundness of structure, general condition and all major or minor structural faults.

Inspection Report

The inspection includes a review of the following structural elements:

  • foundations
  • roof
  • floors
  • walls
  • ceilings
  • lintels
  • beams
  • joists
  • exterior structure

The engineering report details the structural adequacy of all the load bearing elements, identifies any structural concerns and recommends actions to rectify problems.
